As per reports, Vivo may become the first brand to launch the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 foldable phone in the Chinese market. It is speculated that the X Fold 3 will feature the said chipset. The X Fold 3 that is expected to break cover along with the Pro variant may house the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station, has revealed the battery capacities of what appears to be the X Fold 3 and the X Fold 3 Pro.
In the leak, the tipster did not mention the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro monikers explicitly, but he used an emoji, which he usually uses while talking about upcoming Vivo phones. The leak suggests that the X Fold 3 will have a 2 x 2,730mAh dual-cell battery, offering a combined rated capacity of 5,460mAh. This indicates that the typical value of the X Fold 3’s battery could be 5,600mAh.
On the other hand, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro may pack a 2 x 2775mAh dual-cell battery with a total rated value of 2,550mAh. Hence, there is a possibility that the typical value of the Pro variant’s battery could be 5,700mAh. According to reports, the Vivo X Fold 3 and 3 Pro may support 100W wired charging, whereas only the Pro model may offer 50W wireless charging.
As per reports, the Vivo X Fold 3 will be an affordable offering that will lack some other features, such as an in-screen fingerprint scanner and a periscope camera. Reports have claimed that the internal and external displays of the X Fold 3 Pro will feature an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner. Details of its front display is not known yet, but the inner screen is expected to offer a 120Hz refresh rate and a 2K resolution.
The rear camera setup of the X Fold 3 is expected to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera with OIS support, an ultra-wide lens, and a 64-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The X Fold 3 series is expected to ship with Origin OS 4-based Android 14. As far as lunch is concerned, the X Fold 3 series is expected to debut in March of this year in China. It is unclear whether it will be released on the global market.
