Vivo is reportedly working on the Vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro foldable phones for the Chinese market. The X Fold 3 series may debut with other devices, such as the X100s smartphone and the Pad 3 tablet, in Q1 2024. As per a new leak, either the X Fold 3 or its 3 Pro version could be the lightest foldable phone ever.
A Weibo post by tipster Digital Chat Station suggests that Vivo’s foldable phone will measure only 5mm when unfolded and 10.5mm when folded. In addition, the device will weigh 22x grams, which indicates that its weight will be less than 230 grams.
To recall, the Vivo X Fold 2 was quite hefty, weighing 279 grams. Rumors are rife that the X Fold 3 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, whereas the Pro model will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
Reports have claimed that the X Fold 3 Pro will have a large battery and a periscope telephoto camera. It might weigh less than the X Fold 2, but it is unlikely to weigh under 230 grams. Hence, it appears that the above-mentioned dimensions may belong to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2-powered Vivo X Fold 3.
Reports have claimed that the Vivo X Fold 3 will lack features like an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor, wireless charging, and a 64-megapixel OV64B periscope camera, which will be seen on the Pro model. On the other hand, the X Fold 3 Pro is said to feature these features as well as a foldable screen with support for 2K resolution, 100W charging, 50W wireless charging, and a 50-megapixel (main)+ ultra-wide + 64-megapixel (periscope) triple camera unit.
