The rumor mill has been consistently spilling details about the upcoming Vivo devices. Next month, the brand may unveil the Vivo X Fold 3 series of foldable phones, the Vivo Pad 3 tablet, and the Vivo X100s smartphone. The second quarter is expected to see the arrival of the Vivo X100 Pro+, which is also being dubbed the Vivo X100 Ultra by the rumor mill. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Smart Pikachu, has revealed the launch timeframe of the device.
Previous reports have claimed that the Vivo X100 Ultra will be announced in the second quarter of 2024. However, some contradictory reports have claimed that its arrival has been delayed, suggesting that it may launch in May or June. However, the latest Weibo post by Smart Pikachu reveals that the X100 Pro+ is slated to debut by the end of April.
According to reports, the Vivo X100 Pro Plus will come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, which means it will succeed the Vivo X90 Pro+ equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. The X90 Pro+ did not release in the global market. Hence, it is not clear whether the X100 Pro+ will debut in markets outside of China.
The X100 Pro+ is expected to compete with the likes of the Oppo Find X7 Ultra and upcoming devices, such as the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and the Honor Magic 6 Pro+.
According to reports, the X100 Pro+ will feature a Samsung E7 AMOLED display. The back panel of the device will have a 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900 primary camera. It is likely to arrive with 16 GB of LPDDR5x RAM, up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage, 100W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and an IP68-rated chassis.
