Jia Jingdong, who is Vivo China’s Vice President of Vivo Brand and General Manager of Brand and Product Strategy, is known for revealing key details about upcoming Vivo devices before their official announcement. It appears that Vivo will unveil the Vivo X100 Ultra in May in China. Ahead of the launch, Jia released a teaser image of the phone and confirmed a few details about the device’s camera capabilities.
Vivo X100 Ultra officially teased
According to Jia, Vivo will soon introduce its in-house imaging technology brand, BlueImage. This initiative highlights their strategic focus on smartphone camera innovation. BlueImage exists as a component within Vivo’s wider “blue technology matrix,” demonstrating the company’s holistic approach to technological development in areas like chip design, AI, battery technology, and operating systems.
Underscoring their commitment, Vivo maintains a collaborative partnership with Zeiss, fusing their in-house advancements with external expertise. This signals Vivo’s seriousness about establishing itself as an imaging powerhouse. Jia released an image showcasing the BlueImage logo. In addition, he also shared a teaser image of an upcoming Vivo phone, which appears to be the Vivo X100 Ultra.
According to reports, the Vivo X100 Ultra’s camera setup will have a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera with support for 4.3x optical zoom and 200x digital zoom. The camera module may also include a 50-megapixel LYT-900 primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera. The device is also rumored to feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display that offers a 2K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate and it will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip.
The Vivo X100s and X100s Pro are also expected to launch with the X100 Ultra in China in May. The X100s and X100s Pro is rumored to feature the Dimensity 9300 Plus chipset.
