On May 13, Vivo unveiled China’s much-awaited Vivo X100 Ultra flagship phone. However, it is only today that the device has been made available for purchase in the country. Soon after going on sale, the company confirmed that the total sales of the X100 Ultra exceeded ¥500,000,000 (500 million Yuan) in one hour.
For those who don’t know, the Vivo X100 Ultra is a China-exclusive phone meaning the brand has no plans to launch it in other markets. In China, the device comes in two options, 12GB+256GB, 16GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB. These variants are priced at 6,499 Yuan (~$911), 7,299 Yuan (~$1,023), and 7,999 Yuan (~$1,122), respectively. The topmost variant comes with support for satellite connectivity support for voice calls and messages.
The above poster suggests that Vivo may have sold approximately 62,500 to 77,000 units of the Vivo X100 Ultra in one hour. Here is a look at the specifications of the device.
Vivo X100 Ultra specifications
The Vivo X100 Ultra features a 6.78-inch curved-edge Samsung E7 AMOLED LTPO screen with a resolution of 3200 x 1440 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, 3000 nits peak brightness, and 1440Hz PWM dimming. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip, paired with LPDDR5x RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. The device features a Vivo V3+ imaging chip and houses a 5,500mAh battery that supports 80W wired and 30W wireless charging.
For photography, it includes a 50-megapixel front camera (Samsung S5KJN1) and a rear camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel main sensor (Sony LYT-900 with SLR-level image stabilization), a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor (Samsung S5KJN1), and a 200-megapixel sensor (Samsung S5KHP9 with SLR-level image stabilization, 3.7x optical zoom, and 100x digital zoom). Additional features include an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint scanner, dual speakers, an x-axis linear motor, 5G, Wi-Fi 7, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, an IR blaster, Bluetooth 5.4, and USB-C (USB 3.2), an IP69/IP68 rating for water and dust resistance, and Android 14 with OriginOS 4.
