Qualcomm is expected to unveil the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 in October of this year. It will compete with the Dimensity 9400 chip, which is also expected to launch in the same month. In a new leak, tipster Digital Chat Station revealed information on the first Vivo and Oppo phones to feature the D9400 chip.
In a new Weibo poster, the tipster shared insights about the upcoming Dimensity 9400 chipset, highlighting significant enhancements in energy efficiency and AI performance, with the NPU (Neural Processing Unit) performance increasing by approximately 40 percent.
According to the leaker, regarding the smartphones, the Vivo X200 series will debut with the Dimensity 9400 chipset in all three models, while the Oppo Find X8 series will follow closely, featuring the chipset in two models. The X8 lineup is expected to feature the Find X8 and X8 Pro, which feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip, whereas the X8 Ultra will have the Dimensity 9400 onboard.
Additionally, MediaTek has raised its prices, indicating that this generation of small-screen flagship phones might experience a slight increase in price.
The tipster’s recent leaks suggest that the Vivo X200 series will feature up to five models, referred to as “cups.” Apart from the standard cup, the X200 series will have a “medium” cup,” “large cup,” “medium-large cup,” and “extra-large cup.” The last model appears to be the Vivo X200 Ultra, which is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip.
