Rumors are rife that Vivo plans to launch the Vivo X200, X200+, and X200 Pro smartphones in China in October. It is speculated that these devices may debut in the third week of the month. With around a month remaining for the launch, the company has begun teasing the arrival of the Vivo X200 series. In a new Weibo post released by Jia Jingdong, who is Vivo’s Vice President and General Manager for Brand and Product Strategy, he revealed initial details about the X200 series.
According to Jingdong, the X200 series features a flat display, a custom sensor coupled with an imaging chip, a high-capacity battery, and a top-tier chipset enhanced by Blue Crystal technology. He also revealed that the series will come preloaded with OriginOS 5.
Jingdong claimed that the new Origin OS version boasts more efficient local AI processing, improved natural interaction experiences, and personalized service recommendations driven by intent recognition. It appears that the company will share more information about the X200 series later this month.
The Vivo executive also highlighted Vivo’s recent success in the premium 4,000-6,000 Yuan market segment in the home market. He attributed the success to a significant number of iPhone users transitioning to Vivo devices. To accommodate these users, the X200 series will feature a flat-screen design similar to iPhones, ensuring a smoother transition for them.
According to reports, the Dimensity 9400 chipset will power the 6.3-inch OLED display of the Vivo X200. In terms of photography, it will have a new 22nm 50-megapixel primary camera powered by the Vivo V3+ imaging chip. It is expected to house a 5,600mAh silicon battery and run on OriginOS 5-based Android 15. The phone is also expected to support wireless charging.
