Vivo has officially announced a new entry-level smartphone known as the Vivo Y53s in Vietnam where the phone carries a launch price of VND 6,990,000 (US$304) for it’s 8GB+128GB variant.
As you can tell from it’s moniker, this device is essentially the 4G variant of the Vivo Y53s 5G which was launched in the Chinese market last month.
Starting with the front, the Vivo Y53s features a 6.58” IPS LCD display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution alongside a smooth 90Hz screen refresh rate. It also comes with a typical dewdrop-notch upfront to accommodate it’s 16 megapixels front-facing camera for selfie and video-calling purposes.
On the rear side of the phone, it boasts a rectangular camera island which is home to a triple-camera system that comprises of a 64 megapixels main camera, 2 megapixels macro camera, as well as a 2 megapixels depth unit.
Under the hood, the Vivo Y53s is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio G80 chipset which is paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage that can be further expanded via a microSD card.
To keep it’s light on, the phone is fitted with a respectable 5,000mAh battery which supports 33W fast-charging. Other than that, the Vivo Y53s also features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and is shipped with FuntouchOS 11.1 based on Android 11.
