Vivo has officially announced a new mid-ranger smartphone in the Thai market known as the Vivo Y72 5G. This device is in fact the first Y-series smartphone in the global market that comes with 5G connectivity.
Starting with the front, the new Vivo Y72 5G comes along with a 6.58-inches FHD+ IPS LCD display which has a 16 megapixels selfie camera housed within the dewdrop-notch. A side-mounted fingerprint scanner can also be found along the right edge of the device.
Around the back of the device, there’s an elongated camera island which houses a triple-camera setup that includes a 64 megapixels primary shooter, an 8 megapixels ultra-wide, as well as a 2 megapixels sensor for either macro or depth information.
The Vivo Y72 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset which will be paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department. As usual, its storage capacity can also be further expanded via a microSD card.
To keep its lights on, the Vivo Y72 5G draws power from a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging support. Other than that, it also runs on the latest FuntouchOS 11.1 (based on Android 11) and features a 3.5mm headphone jack as well.
For those who’re interested, the Vivo Y72 5G is available in both Graphite Black and Dream Glow colorways. In the Thai market, the device is priced at 9,999 Baht (US$324) for its sole 8GB+128GB model.
