As scheduled, Vivo has officially announced the Vivo Y72 5G smartphone in the Indian market that’s targeted towards the entry-level segment of the 5G market. However, do note that this is a completely different model as the Vivo Y72 5G that was launched in the South-East Asian markets earlier this year.
Starting with the front, the Vivo Y72 5G arrives with a 6.58” LCD display that offers a FHD+ screen resolution along with a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. It features a dewdrop-notch upfront which is home to an 8 megapixels front-facing shooter for selfie and video-calling purposes.
Around the back of the phone, it comes with a square-shape camera module which houses a dual-cam setup that includes a 48 megapixels main camera as well as a 2 megapixels depth sensor.
Under the hood, the Vivo Y72 5G is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 480 chipset which is paired with 8GB RAM and 128GB onboard storage in the memory department.
To keep it’s lights on, the Vivo Y72 5G draws power from a respectable 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast-charging. On the software-side, the Vivo Y72 5G is shipped with FuntouchOS 11.1 based on Android 11.
For those who’re interested, the Vivo Y72 5G is available in both Prism Magic and Slate Grey colorways, and is priced at INR20,990 (US$282) for it’s sole 8GB+128GB variant.
