Xiaomi 12 series launch date has been officially confirmed. The company took to Weibo to confirm that it will be announcing the Xiaomi 12 lineup at 19:30 PM (local time) on Dec. 28 in China. The lineup is expected to include three models such as Xiaomi 12, Xiaomi 12X, and Xiaomi 12 Pro.
The official poster only confirms the launch date of the Xiaomi 12 lineup. It does not mention anything on the monikers of the Xiaomi 12 series of phones that will be announced on Dec. 28. It appears that Xiaomi executives are now using Xiaomi 12 models to write posts on Weibo.
As can be in the screenshots, Xiaomi’s founder, chairman, and CEO Lei Jun is now using the Xiaomi 12 to compose posts on Weibo. Xiaomi General Manager Wang Teng Thomas is using the Xiaomi 12X on the micro-blogging site and the more powerful Xiaomi 12 Pro is being used by Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing.
The recently spotted CAD renders of the Xiaomi 12 revealed that it will be equipped with a 6.2-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a centrally positioned punch-hole. It is likely to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. The device may house a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. It may feature a 50-megapixel triple camera unit and run on MIUI 13 based Android 12 OS.
Speculations are rife that the Xiaomi 12 Pro will also feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and carry support for 120W fast charging. The Xiaomi 12X could be an affordable model since it is expected to come with the Snapdragon 870 chipset.
