Xiaomi 13 series launch event, which was supposed to take place on Dec. 1, was reportedly cancelled due to the death of the former President of the People’s Republic of China, Jiang Zemin. Like other Chinese brands, Xiaomi’s China wing has been inactive on its social media platform since Nov. 30. However, screenshots of the Chinese Mi Store app that are being circulated on Weibo show that the Xiaomi 13 launch event has been postponed to Dec. 11.
The screenshots below show that the Xiaomi 13 series will be unveiled at 7 PM (local time) on Dec. 11 in the home market. The company will officially confirm the launch date in the next day or two. The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro are now up for reservations.
At the time of writing this post, Xiaomi 13 had 288,956 reservations. The Xiaomi 13 Pro, on the other hand, received 247,717 reservations.
According to tipster Digital Chat Station, the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has affected the production capacity of the entire mobile phone industry. Tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that Xiaomi would begin the sale of the Xiaomi 13 series on Dec. 17.
Xiaomi will also announce a couple of other products at the Xiaomi 13 series launch event. The company will unveil the Xiaomi Watch S2 smartwatch, the Xiaomi Buds 4 TWS earbuds, MIUI 14, and a desktop PC. As far as the Xiaomi 13 series is concerned, it will offer a 120Hz E6 AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, LPDDR5x RAM, UFS 4.0 storage, a 32-megapixel front camera, 50-megapixel triple cameras, and up to a 4,820mAh battery with 120W fast charging.
