Xiaomi may announce the Xiaomi 14 Ultra and Mix Flip smartphones in March of this year in China. Ahead of the expected launch, a leaked image showcasing the camera module of the 14 Ultra has appeared on Weibo. It reveals a camera design similar to that of its predecessor, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra. A closer look at the text mentioned in the camera module reveals a few key details about the 14 Ultra’s main and periscope telephoto cameras.
As can be seen in the image, the “VARIO-SUMMILUX 1:1.63-2.5/12-120 ASPH” text along with “Leica” branding is imprinted in the camera module of the alleged 14 Ultra. The SUMMILUX is expected to feature a remarkable aperture range of f/1.63 to f/2.5. Anticipated to adopt a variable aperture design for the main camera, its potential maximum aperture of f/1.63, especially with the 50-megapixel Sony LYT-900, promises impressive performance.
Additionally, the periscope telephoto with a 1 20mm focal length is set to see an upgrade, increasing its aperture from f/3.0 in the previous generation 13 Ultra to a faster f/2.5. In conclusion, this upcoming iteration represents a significant advancement in lens technology, significantly increasing the amount of light the camera system can capture.
The image also suggests that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra will have a quad-camera system, but the exact camera details are not known yet. Under the hood, it will have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, and it may ship with up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra is expected to pack a 5,180mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging support. It will run on HyperOS-based Android 14.
