In September, Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Xiaomi 16, Xiaomi 16 Pro, and a compact flagship phone. As far as the Xiaomi 16 Ultra is concerned, it is expected to launch in the first half of 2026. The rumor mill also claims that the lineup will feature the Xiaomi 16 Pro Max, but there’s no information about its launch timeframe. A new leak that has emerged on Weibo has leaked the camera details of the Ultra edition.
Xiaomi 16 Ultra camera details tipped

According to a Chinese tipster, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra might feature continuous optical zoom, and this technology could also be included in the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. The leak claims that if the Pro models receive this feature, a 5x zoom could actually be quite effective, provided the technology delivers meaningful results.
However, if the 16 Pro’s telephoto camera is based on the smaller Samsung JN5 sensor, it may still fall short. In contrast, the 16 Pro Max with a 1/1.95-inch GN8 sensor and 5x zoom combined with continuous optical zoom sounds more promising.
As per other reports, the Xiaomi 16 Ultra’s camera system could be equipped with a 50-megapixel 1-inch main sensor, a 200-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel LYT600 ultra-wide camera. With continuous optical zoom, the device is tipped to deliver lossless quality across focal lengths/
The Xiaomi 16 Ultra is also rumored to run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 platform. It is said to feature a 6.85-inch Real RGB OLED flat display with 1.5K resolution and a 7,000mAh battery with 100W wired and 80W wired and 50W wireless charging.
