Recent reports have revealed that Xiaomi is gearing up to launch a new Xiaomi 17-series phone in China. This device, which is believed to be called the Xiaomi 17 Max, is expected to go official in April this year. Ahead of the launch, the rumour mill has been gradually leaking details about this phone. A new leak, courtesy of tipster Digital Chat Station, has revealed the battery size of the device.
Xiaomi 17 Max battery size, fast charging capabilities revealed
The new leak suggests that the Xiaomi 17 Max will house a massive 8,000mAh battery. This will be even larger than the Xiaomi 17 Pro, which packs a 7,500mAh battery.
The 17 Max is said to support 100W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Speculations are rife that this device will be similar to the existing Xiaomi 17 Pro Max. One of the major differentiators between the two is that the 17 Max will lack a secondary rear display, which is available on the Pro Max model. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite gen 5 chipset.
Moving to the front, Digital Chat Station has previously claimed that the Xiaomi 17 Max will feature a 6.8-inch or 6.9-inch OLED panel. In the latest leak, he has stated that it will be a flat display surrounded by ultra-thin bezels on all four sides. As for the rear design, it is said to be similar to that of the vanilla Xiaomi 17.
The Xiaomi 17 Max’s rear camera setup is expected to include a periscope camera, which is said to be better than those found on the existing Xiaomi 17 series models, excluding the 17 Ultra. The primary camera is expected to be the same as the Xiaomi 17, while the overall photography performance is said to be superior to that of the Xiaomi 17.
The leak also states that the Xiaomi 17 Max will feature an improved speaker system. While its engineering prototype has been spotted in white, it may arrive in multiple colour options.
