Xiaomi is reportedly working on the Xiaomi 18 series of smartphones. If reports are to be believed, the Xiaomi 18 series, which is expected to launch in September, could be the first to feature the next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 chip. A new leak reveals that the series may feature dual 200-megapixel cameras.
Xiaomi 18, 18 Pro may sport dual 200MP cameras

As per the leak, Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship phone equipped with a 6.3-inch display could feature dual 200-megapixel cameras. In the current generation, the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Pro are both equipped with a 6.3-inch display, but it is the Pro model that offers better imaging capabilities.
Therefore, while the Xiaomi 18 and 18 Pro could both be compact offerings with a 6.3-inch screen, only the Pro edition may feature dual 200-megapixel cameras. Considering that the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max have the same set of cameras, but the Max offers a larger screen and bigger batteries, it is likely that the Xiaomi 18 Pro and 18 Pro Max may both feature dual 200-megapixel cameras.
As far as the standard Xiaomi 18 is concerned, recent reports have revealed that it will finally feature a periscope telephoto camera. Xiaomi introduced a secondary rear display on the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max last year, which is very likely to be retained on the successors. This feature is likely to remain absent on the standard model.
While the rumor mill is talking about the Xiaomi 18 series for the Chinese market, the brand is currently working on the Xiaomi 17 and 17 Ultra for the global market. Speculation is rife that these devices may debut globally by the end of this month. The global market is unlikely to receive the 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models.
