Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro 8 GB RAM Variant Goes on Sale in China; All 12 GB RAM Models Axed

At the start of the second half of 2019, Xiaomi had launched the Black Shark 2 Pro as the upgraded version of the Black Shark 2 gaming phone. The new Xiaomi gaming smartphone came with 2.96GHz Snapdragon 855+ mobile platform and it was made available initially in two models such as 12 GB RAM + 128 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. Later, 12 GB RAM + 512 GB storage edition was also introduced. Starting from today, the company has started with the sales of the 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage model of the phone. None of the 12 GB RAM variants are listed on the official purchase of the Black Shark 2 Pro on Xiaomi Mall in China.

The 8 GB RAM + 128 GB storage edition of the Black Shark 2 Pro was put up for pre-orders on Jan. 10 and as scheduled, it is now available for purchase in China. The handset has arrived with a price tag of 2,699 Yuan. It can be bought in Electric Black color.

Xiaomi Black Shark 2 Pro Specifications

The Black Shark 2 Pro has a 6.39-inch AMOLED display that offers full HD+ resolution. It is embedded with a fingerprint sensor. The Android 9 Pie OS customized with Joy UI runs on the device.

The Snapdragon 855+ mobile platform powers the device along with LPDDR4x RAM. The phone ships with UFS 3.0 storage and lacks a microSD card slot. The back panel of the phone has a dual camera setup that includes a Sony IMX586 48-megapixle main lens and a 12-megapixel telephoto shooter with 2x optical zoom support. It has a front camera of 20-megapixel.

The Black Shark 2 Pro is packed with a 4,000mAh battery. The device comes with support for 27W fast charging through USB-C. It lacks a 3.5mm audio jack.
