Rumors about a compact Xiaomi notebook named the Xiaomi Book S appeared in March. The company had reportedly started internal testing of the device in various Asian countries. It then appeared in the Bluetooth SIG and Geekbench benchmarking sites’ databases. It appears that it will not take too long for the device to go official as it has surfaced in the database of the EU Declaration of Conformity (CE) with the MIT2205-AA model number.
The CE documentation has an image of the device, which seems to be sourced from its FCC certification. The image suggests that the Xiaomi Book S 12.4 will be a laptop-tablet convertible device. The pogo pins on the device make it seem like it could be equipped with a detachable keyboard.
The Xiaomi Book S 12.4 will probably run on the latest Windows 11 OS. It is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8cx Gen 2 chipset, which runs at 3.0GHz. It tags along with the Adreno 690 GPU. The SoC is likely to be accompanied by 8 GB of RAM.
In related news, Xiaomi is reportedly planning to launch a slew of flagship phones in China. Devices like the Xiaomi 12 Ultra, Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12S Pro, and Xiaomi MIX Fold 2 have been spotted with a 67W fast charger in the database of the 3C certification platform. The Xiaomi 12S Pro has been spotted with a 120W fast charger at 3C.
The Xiaomi 12S series and Xiaomi 12 Ultra are expected to feature the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. The Ultra model is rumored to debut as early as next month in China. The MIX Fold 2 may arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip.
