Xiaomi is one of the major smartphone brands that has been in the rumors for building a foldable device. Earlier in this month, a leaked video showcasing Xiaomi’s foldable phone from the company was shared by reliable leakster Evan Blass. Today, Xiaomi President Lin Bin released a hands-on video of the pre-production unit of the company’s foldable phone. The design of the phone reveals that it is the world’s first phone to feature dual-folding design.
Xiaomi dual-folding smartphone can be folded from left and right sides at the same time to use it as smaller device as shown in the hands-on video below. It could be featuring a display of around 6 inches that may offer an aspect ratio of 3:2. The device seems to be running on modified edition of the MIUI ROM. There seems to be a power button the topside of the device. Bin has suggested Xiaomi Mi Dual Flex and MI MIX Flex for the company’s foldable phone. He has also urged Xiaomi fans to recommend some names.
Xiaomi’s dual-folding smartphone that could be called Xiaomi Mi Dual Flex or Mi MIX Flex or any other name seems to be worthy rival for Samsung Galaxy F foldable device. There is no confirmation on the release date or the pricing of Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable phone. The Chinese manufacture has a keynote event at MWC 2019 on Feb. 24 in Barcelona, Spain.
