Chinese smartphone brands are gunning to launch phones with 120W fast charging support. Recently, iQOO announced its 120W rapid charging technology. Soon after its announcement, leaked information appeared that the company would launch its first phone with 120W fast charging support in August. Fresh information reveals that Xiaomi could also become one of the first brands to launch a smartphone with 120W charger as a mystery with the said fast charging support has appeared at the database of 3C authority of China.
The 3C listing reveals that an upcoming Xiaomi phone with model number M2007J1SC could be shipping with a charger that works at a max rate of 120W. The model number of the 120W charger is MDY-12-ED.
It is a 5G-ready phone. It appears that it could be the next flagship phone from the brand. Recently, the same phone had acquired network certification in China.
However, it is still unclear whether it is Xiaomi’s Mi series phone or a Redmi flagship. The latter is unlikely since a new flagship phone in the Redmi series could be the Redmi K40 Pro that is expected to launch in the first quarter of the coming year.
The M2007J1SC could be a Snapdragon 865 Plus SoC powered flagship phone from Xiaomi. A reliable tipster from China had claimed in May that the M2007J1SC phone is codenamed as Apollo and it will be debuting in August. In the past, he had also revealed that the device will be arriving with a 120Hz refresh rate supporting display. It remains to be seen whether the device will end up as Mi MIX series or a more powerful device in the Mi 10 lineup.
