Last week, Qualcomm announced the Snapdragon 870 mobile platform as an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 865 and 865+ SoCs that powered many Android flagship phones in 2020. Apart from the Motorola Edge S smartphone which is set to launch in China later today, leading smartphone OEMs like Vivo, OPPO, OnePlus, and Xiaomi are expected to launch SD870 powered phones in the coming months. A well-known tipster from China has claimed that the Snapdragon 870 SoC will be seen powering an upcoming Xiaomi Mi 10 series smartphone.
According to the tipster, Xiaomi is preparing a new version of the Xiaomi Mi 10 phone with Snapdragon 870 SoC onboard. He did not share detailed information on the specs of the smartphone.
However, he revealed that apart from replacing the Snapdragon 865 with the all-new Snapdragon 870 chipset, the other specs will remain unchanged. The tipster also speculated that the device could be priced around 3,500 Yuan ($540).
Xiaomi Mi 10 5G Specifications
The Xiaomi Mi 10 5G has a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ display that produces a 90Hz refresh rate. The punch-hole screen is integrated with an in-screen fingerprint reader. The Snapdragon 865 SoC powers the device with up to 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 3.0 storage.
A 4,870mAh battery powers the Xiaomi Mi 10 5G. It carries support for 30W rapid charging and 30W wireless charging. It has a selfie camera of 20-megapixel. The rear-facing camera module has a 108-megapixel primary camera, an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
