There has been a lot of leaks and rumors regarding the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6X (aka Mi A2) and after this device passed through TENAA some weeks ago, we thought that all is done and dusted. However, that proved to be false when new leak popped up online yesterday. From previous rumors, the Xiaomi Mi 6X will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 626 processor but this new leak suggests that this smartphone will be powered by MediaTek’s new boy, Helio P60.
Helio P60 was released recently and there were earlier reports that Xiaomi and some other manufacturers have placed orders for this chipset. This processor boasts of four Cortex-A73 cores plus another four Cortex-A53 cores and can be found on only OPPO F7 for now. Though, the chip is great, its GPU – Mali-G72 GPU MP3, seems a little bit below par.

In addition, the leak also revealed that this smartphone will sport a 12MP 1.5µm Sony’s IMX 486 sensor coupled with a 20MP 1.0µm Sony IMX 376 sensor on the rear while the selfie shooter will be the same 20MP Sony IMX 376 sensor. From previous reports, the Mi 6X will be equipped with a 5.99-inch 18:9 FHD+ (2160×1080) display and will come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of Storage. Running on Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI 9, the lights of this smartphone will be kept on by an average 2910mAh battery.
Recently, MediaTek and Xiaomi announced a new partnership in smartphones for 2018 thus this current speculation is not coming as a complete surprise. However, this is only a rumor and the information herein has not been officially confirmed.
