The report also claims that the major attraction of the launch event will be Xiaomi’s 8th Anniversary Edition phone.
Digitimes had recently reported that the Mi 7’s arrival could be delayed until the third quarter of this year because its 3D facial recognition system had encountered poor results. However, now that the fresh information is claiming that the 8th Anniversary Edition phone will get unveiled later this month, it seems that Xiaomi may surprise its fans by including the 3D facial recognition feature.
The report claims that Xiaomi’s 8th Anniversary Edition smartphone could be the first Android device to feature 3D facial recognition feature. Apple had introduced the 3D facial scanner enabled iPhone X as its 10th anniversary phone. So, it seems likely that the Chinese manufacturer its 8th anniversary smartphone with 3D facial recognition.
