Last year, Xiaomi had announced the Xiaomi Mi 8, Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition and Xiaomi Mi 8 SE smartphones through the same unveil event in May. Xiaomi has already confirmed on the existence of the Xiaomi Mi 9 and Mi 9 Explorer Edition smartphones. These phones are expected to go official on Feb. 20. Today, a listing for the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE smartphone has been found listed on Jingdong Mall. The sudden appearance of Mi 9 SE on the Chinese retailer site suggests that it may get unveiled along with the Mi 9 and Mi 9 Explorer Edition.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE listing shows that it is currently out of stock. The listing reveals that that the ordered units will be delivered between March 11 and March 20. As of this writing, there is no information available on the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE.
Just as the Mi 8 SE was an upper mid-range phone, the Mi 9 SE could be a similar offering in the Mi 9 series. The handset may adopt a waterdrop-style notched screen like the Mi 9. Since Xiaomi’s Product Director Wang Teng Thomas has claimed that even mid-range phones from the company will have in-screen fingerprint scanner technology, the Mi 9 SE could be equipped an AMOLED display with support for screen fingerprint unlocking.
There is a possibility that the newly announced Snapdragon 712 mobile platform could be the driving for of the smartphone. The other details of the phone may surface before its official launch.
