This year, we expect Xiaomi to release at least two flagship series – Xiaomi Mi 9 series and Xiaomi Mi MIX 4. As is the custom of the company, one of these series will be released in the first half of the year and Mi fans are already anticipating the features that would be added to this upcoming flagship series. Today, a Weibo user asked founder and CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun on Weibo “Will the Xiaomi Mi 9 have a 24W or higher charging power?”. Lei Jun replied, “Xiaomi Mi 9 will come with a better charging power”. From his response, it’s obvious that the company is working to improve the fast charge option on the Xiaomi Mi 9.
The detailed specs of this smartphone are not known for now, but it is believed that the Xiaomi Mi 9 is the same as “Xiaomi Cepheus” which appeared on Geekbench a few days ago. If it is, this smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. This chip was released in December 2018 and it is based on the 7nm process.
The Snapdragon 855 is equipped with the fourth-generation multi-core artificial intelligence engine (AI Engine) which can achieve 3 times higher AI performance than the previous generation. It also integrates the world’s first computer vision (CV) ISP to support cutting-edge computing photography and video capture. In addition to the Snapdragon 855, the Xiaomi Mi 9 may be equipped with a 48MP lens (Sony IMX586) with a unit pixel area of 0.8?m. In the dark light condition, four pixels are intelligently aggregated into 1.6?m large pixels, and 12MP pixels high-quality night landscape photos will be the output. The imaging effect of this smartphone is worth anticipating.
