Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 May Come With 3D Face Recognition Feature

Earlier this week, we had reported that Xiaomi may rival the upcoming iPhone 8 may debut its flagship concept phone, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 in September. Rumors have revealed that Apple iPhone 8 will be arriving 3D face recognition feature. A Chinese leakster has revealed that the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 will be also arriving with 3D face recognition feature.

The leakster has posted an image of the locked screen of MIUI 9. It shows that there is a prompt at the bottom-center to unlock the phone face recognition. The leakster claims that this feature would possibly arrive on the Xiaomi Mi MIX 2.

Rumors have revealed that the Mi MIX 2 is codenamed as Chiron and it will be coming with a display that will deliver a screen-to-body ratio of 95 percent. It is expected to come with a 12-megapixel Sony IMX386 rear camera and a 5-megapixel OmniVision OV5675 front-facing shooter.

The Mi MIX 2 may come with a base model featuring 6 GB of RAM + 128 GB of storage with a pricing of 3,999 Yuan ($600). It appears that there will be another model with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB storage priced at 4,999 Yuan ($750). It is expected to come in a new color option of bright silver and is speculated to debut on Sept. 12.
