Yesterday, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed that Xiaomi will be holding a launch event on Aug. 10 to announce new smartphones and tablets. Today, the company released an official confirmation that it will be unleashing the Mi MIX 4 on the said date at 7:30 PM (local time).
The company has only confirmed the launch date of the Mi MIX 4 and is yet to reveal its key features. However, the launch poster released by the brand does confirm its moniker. It is believed that the Xiaomi phone with the M2016118C model number that was recently approved by the TENAA authority of China will be breaking cover as the Mi MIX 4.
The TENAA listing of the purported Mi MIX 4 is yet to be populated with its entire specifications. However, the listing has revealed that it might be available in variants such as 8 GB RAM + 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM + 256 GB storage. It is speculated that the topmost variant of the device will offer users 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of native storage.
Rumors surrounding the Mi MIX 4 have revealed that it will be the company’s first smartphone to feature an in-screen camera. The device is speculated to arrive with a 6.6-inch OLED FHD+ display with curved edges.
It is unclear whether the device will feature the Snapdragon 888 or Snapdragon 888+ chipset. The device is said to be equipped with LPDDR5 uMCP by Micron. For photography, the device may come sport a triple camera unit led by a Samsung GN1s 50-megapixel snapper. The 3C certification of the device revealed that it may carry support for 120W fast charging. The smartphone is also speculated to arrive with support for 70W or 80W wireless charging.
