What is likely a new version of Xiaomi’s elite Mi Note 2 flagship has been spotted on the website of Chinese mobile certification agency TENAA. Although it is not explicitly written that it is the Mi Note 2, but the specifications the device is listed to come with are similar with those of the current crop of Mi Note 2.
According to the TENAA listing, the smartphone which has the model number 2015212, features a 5.7-inch display and equally measuresĀ 156.2 x 77.2 x 7.6mm. There is also a 4,070mAh battery crammed inside the smartphone. If the similarity in specs isn’t enough evidence, perhaps the closeness in the model numbers should further lend credence to speculations that this device is likely a version of the Mi Note 2. The previous or current models of the Mi Note had as their model numbersĀ 2015211 and 2015213.
The Xiaomi Mi Note 2 was launched last year but has been experiencing shortage in supply due to the scarcity of the flexible OLED it uses. Although the TENAA listing did not reveal the images of the 2015212, it is likely to use a different type of panel which would enable the company mass produce the flagship.
