The much awaited Xiaomi Mix 4 finally made it’s official debut this week, and the reception from it’s fans in China is simply overwhelming. Quite expected, the new Mix 4 was quickly sold out in it’s home country during the first batch of presale – resulting in disappointment among fans who’re unable to secure one unit for themselves despite waiting ages for it’s launch.
To provide some insight into the Xiaomi Mix 4’s shortage issue, Xiaomi’s president Lu Weibing has came forward to explain that the current shortage is largely attributed to the limited supply of the new Snapdragon 888+ chipset as well as the significantly lower yield rate of it’s ceramic back panel (as compared to those with traditional glass back).
Lu however, promises Xiaomi fans that the Xiaomi Mix 4 will be available for purchase (in limited quantity) again on August 16th. However, we do expect it to be sold out quickly during the upcoming sale as well.
At the moment, Xiaomi has yet to officially confirm whether the Xiaomi Mix 4 will be heading to the global market. However, the device’s recent appearance on Google Play Console seems to suggest the possibility of a global launch.
As a quick recap, the Xiaomi Mix 4 sports a 6.67” FHD+ AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, Snapdragon 888+, 108MP triple-cam setup, 20MP selfie camera, 4,500mAh battery, as well as 120W fast-wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
