Xiaomi is expected to launch the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 in August this year. It will arrive as the successor to the MIX Fold 2, which was unveiled in the same month last year. The inner displays of the MIX Fold 2 and the original MIX Fold have offered a full-screen experience as they lacked an inner camera. This time around, the MIX Fold 3 is tipped to arrive with an inner camera.
According to Digital Chat Station, the Xiaomi MIX Fold 3 will come equipped with an in-screen camera for the internal foldable display. The tipster did not reveal the megapixel count of the inner camera.
Many brands are incorporating a periscope zoom camera on their major devices this year in China. The MIX Fold 3 is also tipped to feature a periscope telephoto camera that will offer a 5x optical zoom.
The tipster further said that the device will have a thinner and lighter design. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, which indicates that it will rival the Vivo X Fold 2 and the upcoming OPPO Find N3, which feature the same chipset.
The leak states that the MIX Fold 3 will support 50W wireless charging. For those who don’t know, the wireless charging feature was missing on the last two generations.
Last but not least, the leak also states that the company is rumored to be developing a concept foldable phone with advanced features. While specific information about this concept phone is currently scarce, it is likely to be unveiled alongside the MIX Fold 3. According to a previous leak, the device will come in two LPDDR5x RAM + UFS 4.0 storage configurations, such as 16 GB RAM + 512 GB and 16 GB RAM + 1 TB.
