As scheduled, Xiaomi has officially announced the company’s latest innovation – the Mi Charge Turbo wireless charging which supports up to 30W power output.
This is a significant improvement from the current 20W Max Turbo wireless charging that was used for the Xiaomi Mi 9. The new Mi Charge Turbo is capable of fueling 0 to 50% in 25 minutes for a 4,000mAh battery, and a full charge within 69 minutes.
According to Xiaomi, the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G will be the first device to support the Mi Charge Turbo. The device is expected to be announced later this month even though the official date has yet been confirmed.
Similar to the case of Mi 9, we do expect the 30W charger to be sold separately as the retail package will most likely include only the wired charger.
Of course, Xiaomi isn’t going to sit back with just 30W wireless charging. Apparently, the chinese smartphone maker had already began their development of their next generation’s 40W wireless charging solutions which is already under the testing stage.
