In August 2021, Xiaomi announced the Xiaomi Pad 5 and Xiaomi Pad 5 Pro tablets in China. The Chinese manufacturer is reportedly working on the Xiaomi Pad 6 series of tablets. Since last month, the rumor mill has been leaking the key specs of the Pad 6 lineup. Today, reliable tipster Digital Chat Station shared some details of its upcoming tablets.
According to the tipster, the Xiaomi Pad 6 vanilla model that has a L8x shortened model number will have a display that supports a 2.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. He added that this model is powered by the Snapdragon 870. This indicates that the Pad 6 may carry support for 5G connectivity.
To recall, the Xiaomi Pad 5, was powered by the Snapdragon 860. Its 11-inch IPS LCD panel offers a 1600 x 2560 pixels resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate.
The tipster added that the higher variant of the device, which could be called the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro, will come equipped with the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. It will also arrive with a new large-sized display and a new design.
Previous reports have revealed that shorted model numbers such as L81, L8A1A, L82, and L83 are all associated with the Xiaomi Pad 6 series. One of them may debut in the market as the Redmi Pad 5G. It is unclear whether the Pad 6 lineup will include a flagship model powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 Plus chipset. There are some speculations that there could be a Pad 6 series model featuring a Dimensity chipset.
