Xiaomi has confirmed through its official Weibo account today that it will be launching the Xiaomi Play smartphone on Dec. 24. At the same time, a Xiaomi phone with model number M1901F9T/ M1901F9E has been approved by TENAA. It is very likely that the TENAA approved handset could be the upcoming Xiaomi Play handset.
The above poster only confirms the Dec. 24 launch date for Xiaomi Play but does not reveal any details on its specs. Like the Note, Max and MIX series of phones from Xiaomi, Play could be the newest lineup that is all set to go official in the coming week.
The newly spotted M1901F9T and M1901F9E could be the network variants of the upcoming Xiaomi Play. The TENAA listing reveals that the handset measures 147.76 x 71.89 x 7.8mm and weighs 150 grams. The smartphone will be available in colors like black, white, blue, red, yellow, pink, green, purple, pink, gold, silver and gray. It is fitted with a 5.84-inch LCD screen with waterdrop notch. It carries support for 2280 x 1080 pixels. It includes 2,900mAh battery.
The M1901F9T / M1901F9E Xiaomi handset is fueled by 2.3 GHz octa-core processor. It will be available in 3 GB, 4 GB and 6 GB RAM options and storage choices such as 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB. The main sensor in the rear-facing dual camera unit is of 12-megapixel. On the front is 8-megapixel selfie shooter. Other features of the phone are microSD card and fingerprint scanner.
