Previous reports have suggested that the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones would be debuting before Singles’ Day (Nov. 11) which is the biggest online shopping festival in China. However, these smartphones were not unveiled. Fresh information suggest that the arrival of these smartphones could be still close at hand and they may get unveiled in this month.
The probable reason why the Xiaomi Redmi 5 and 5 Plus were not unveiled before Nov. 11 because the Chinese firm is busy stocking up for the huge demand these handsets are expected to receive. Xiaomi is rumored to be building up stocks of Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus since early October.
Reports have revealed that the Xiaomi Redmi 5 would be coming with a 5.7-inch HD+ display and it would be powered by Snapdragon 450 chipset along with 3 GB of RAM. It has a rear camera of 12-megapixel and it is likely to cost around 799 Yuan.
The Redmi 5 Plus is expected to feature 5.9-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 625 chipset, 3 GB / 4 GB RAM, 32 GB / 64 GB ROM, 12-megapixel rear camera, 5-megpaixel selfie snapper. The two variants of the Redmi 5 Plus may respectively cost around 999 Yuan and 1299 Yuan. Interestingly, the Redmi Note 5 is also speculated to get unveiled this month as it has been found listed on JD.
The specs of the Redmi 5 Plus mentioned also appears similar to the rumored specs of Redmi Note 5. We hope that these smartphones are unveiled soon so that all the contradictory details surrounding them are put to rest.
