Today, Xiaomi has introduced the Redmi 6 Pro smartphone in China. It is the first Redmi series phone to arrive with a notched display design. It now joins the Redmi 6 and Redmi 6A smartphones under the Redmi 6 series.
Redmi 6 Pro Specifications and Features
The Redmi 6 Pro has a notched IPS LCD display of 5.84 inches. It supports Full HD+ resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels along with an aspect ratio of 19:9. Those who dislike the notch, the Redmi 6 Pro has an option to disable it by darkening the display areas on the either sides of the notch.
The Snapdragon 625 SoC powers the phone along with 4,000mAh battery. It has up to 4 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of native storage. The handset is preinstalled with Android 8.1 Oreo that is customized with a layer of MIUI 9. It has a dedicated microSD card slot for adding more storage.
The rear side of the phone features 12-megapixel + 5-megapixel dual rear cameras with f/2.2 apertures. The dual camera setup is equipped with many features like portrait mode, enhanced night-light shooting, HDR, EIS and FHD video recording. It has a 5-megapixel front-facing camera that also doubles up a face recognition feature. It can also AI portrait shots and beautified selfies.
Redmi 6 Pro Pricing
The Redmi 6 Pro will go on sale in China from tomorrow. It can be bought in colors like Rose Gold, Sand Gold, Lake Blue, Stone Black and Flame Red. The pricing of the 32 GB storage + 3 GB RAM and 32 GB storage + 4 GB RAM variants are 999 Yuan ($153) and 1,199 Yuan ($183). And the highest variant with 64 GB storage + 4 GB RAM costs 1,299 Yuan ($198).
