The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was launched in China in November 2016. Hence, the rumor mill is speculating that Redmi Note 4’s successor is already in works. According to the leaked images of the RedmI Note 5, it would be driven by Snapdragon 630 chip. This means it could be Xiaomi’s first phone running on SD 630.
The Redmi Note 5 would be coming with a 5.5-inch screen that would be supporting a full HD resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. It is speculated to come with a capacitive fingerprint reader below the screen. For photography, the Redmi Note 5 would be coming with a 16-megapixel Sony Exmor f/2.0 sensor and for selfies, the phablet is expected to feature a 13-megapixel f/2.0 Sony sensor. The main camera may support 4K resolution video shooting as well as better photography in low-light conditions.
The Redmi Note 4’s thickness is 8.5mm, but the Redmi Note 5 is pegged to come with a slim profile of 7.5mm. This is speculated to bring a reduction in the battery size. The Note 4 has a 4,000mAh battery but its successor is rumored to feature 3,790mAh battery. It is speculated to release with Android 7.1.1 Nougat flavored MIUI 9.
The Redmi Note 5 is expected to arrive in multiple RAM and storage versions like 3 GB + 32 GB, 4 GB + 32 GB and 4 GB + 64 GB. The last two models are rumored to be priced around $200 and $220, respectively. It may release at the end of this month.
