Xiaomi is reportedly working on two Snapdragon 870 chipset powered phones for China. While one model will be released with Xiaomi branding, the other one will be a Redmi device. A reliable tipster from China has shared the key specifications of both smartphones.
According to the tipster, Xiaomi’s upcoming phone with Snapdragon 870 will feature a 6.7-inch OLED screen with curved edges. It will carry support for a 120Hz refresh rate.
The handset will be housing a 5,000mAh battery. It will carry support for 67W fast charging and 33W wireless charging. For photography, it may feature a 20-megapixel front-facing camera and a 108-megapixel or 50-megapixel primary camera on the back. It will also feature Harmon Kardon speakers and an X-axis motor.
The Redmi phone with Snapdragon 870 will house a 6.6-inch flat OLED display by Samsung. It will draw power from a 5,000mAh battery that carries support for 67W fast charging. It will be equipped with JBL powered stereo speakers and an X-axis motor. Unfortunately, there is no information available on the final monikers of the two Snapdragon 870 powered phones.
Last month, Xiaomi launched the Xiaomi 11T and 11T Pro phones in global markets. Early reports claimed that the 11T could be rebranded as Redmi K40S in China. It is unclear whether the Redmi phone with Snapdragon 870 will release as a Redmi K40 series, or it will be a part of the upcoming K50 lineup.
