Xiaomi is reportedly working on the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 foldable phone, which may debut in the second half of the year. It is speculated that the brand is also working on a flip-style foldable phone dubbed the Xiaomi Mix Flip. In a recent Weibo post, tipster Wisdom Pikachu revealed the existence of Xiaomi’s third foldable phone for the year.
The tipster recently claimed that the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4, which is expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, is currently being tested for satellite communications. In the latest leak, the tipster claims that the device will have a quad-camera setup, which is no surprise as the predecessor model also features four rear-facing cameras.
He added that the vertically foldable smartphone, which appears to be the Xiaomi Mix Flip, will come equipped with a dual-camera system. In addition, the tipster claims that the company is also working on a horizontally foldable smartphone that will carry a low price tag. However, the tipster did not divulge any information about the specifications of the device.
Earlier reports from September suggested that a special version of the Xiaomi 14 Pro would include a satellite communication feature, but it was eventually cancelled for undisclosed reasons. It appears that the Xiaomi 14 Ultra, which is expected to launch in Q2 this year, could be Xiaomi’s first phone to support two-way satellite connectivity.
As per reports, the Xiaomi Mix Fold 4 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset and an LYT-900 50-megapixel primary camera. The Mix Flip, on the other hand, is expected to come equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Hopefully, newer reports will shed more details about Xiaomi’s upcoming foldable phones.
