Xiaomi India has hinted via a Twitter post that it sold over 250,000 units of the Redmi Note 4 in India just yesterday during its first flash sale. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 was launched in India last week with a new Snapdragon 652 chipset different from the Helio X20 on the China version. At the launch, the company hinted that the device would go on sale at 12 noon on January 23 via mi.com and Flipkart.
Indeed the Redmi Note 4 went on its first flash sale and in reflection of Xiaomi’s towering profile in India, the company had sold 250,000 units in just 10 minutes. The Redmi Note 4 didn’t really perform up to expectations in China and many were skeptical if the device will be a high flying one in the India market. Perhaps spurred by the shift to a Qualcomm chip, coupled with the sleek design and cheap price tag.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 comes in three memory variants and the 2GB + 32GB will sell for 9,999 Rupees ($146), while the 3GB + 32GB goes for 10,999 Rupees ($161), and the 4GB RAM + 64GB for 12,999 Rupees ($190). The device retains the same 5.5-inch IPS LCD display with 2.5D curved glass on top, 13MP rear sensor with phase detection autofocus (PDAF) and LED flash, as well as a 5MP selfie shotter up front. There is also a large 4,100mAh battery crammed inside the smartphone.
