Xiaomi has announced that the company had shipped a whopping 49.4 million smartphones globally in Q1 2021 that translates to an impressive 69.1% year-over-year growth. Revenue from the company’s smartphone sales had also rose to RMB 51.5 billion globally.
Out of the 49.4 million smartphones that were shipped, Xiaomi noted that 4 million of them made up of premium smartphones which are priced above RMB3,000 and EUR300 respectively in the Chinese and global markets.
In fact, Xiaomi’s achievement didn’t came much as a surprise for most of us. This year alone, the company had already launched several noteworthy smartphones from the Mi 11 and Redmi K40 series that were selling like hot cakes in it’s home market. In fact, the company’s success in it’s home market also saw it’s domestic smartphone shipments in Q1 2021 to grow by 74.6% year-over-year.
In the coming months, we can expect Xiaomi to extend it’s impressive sales record with the recent launch of the brand new Redmi Note 10 5G series targeted towards the budget segment. For those who may not know, Redmi’s Note series has always been be one of the best-selling smartphone series for the company.
