Since 2016, Xiaomi has been launching Mi MIX series phone each year. Last year, the company announced the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 5G in February, and then it unveiled a concept phone called the Mi MIX Alpha in October. The rumor mill has been leaking information on the upcoming Mi MIX series phone for the past few months. However, according to a Chinese tipster, Xiaomi will not be launching a new Mi MIX series smartphone in 2020.
The tipster has claimed that the Mi MIX series phone is coming this year because the company has not started with its mass production. Hence, it appears that the Mi MIX phone will be arriving in 2021.
He also revealed that Xiaomi will be launching smartphones with advanced features. The Chinese firm is expected to launch phones with features like under-screen selfie camera, 200W+ fast charging support, in-folding foldable smartphones, and 2K display phones.
Unlike flagship phones from Samsung and Huawei, Xiaomi’s flagship phones are only equipped with Quad HD+ resolution supporting displays. Hence, it is likely that the Xiaomi Mi 20 series flagship phones arriving in Q1 2021 may sport QHD+ screens.
The Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra comes with support for 120W fast charging that can fully charge it in just 23 minutes. Probably, 200W+ charging support could reduce the charging time of such a phone to half. It would be more suitable for Xiaomi to offer 200W+ charging support on a foldable phone that is likely to house a larger battery with dual-cell technology. With ZTE jumping the gun by launching the ZTE Axon 20 5G as the first under-display camera, it is likely that other companies including Xiaomi will launch more phones with advanced technology in the coming year.
