Earlier this month, Xiaomi celebrated its 10th anniversary by announcing the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and Redmi K30 Ultra alongside some other products. Now the company is gearing up to announce a flagship TV in China. Today, the company confirmed that it will be announcing the Xiaomi TV Master Ultra Edition (machine-translated) on Sept. 28.
The USP of the Xiaomi Mi TV Master Ultra Edition is that it supports 8K resolution and it carries support for 5G connectivity. At present, there is no word on the specifications and pricing of the upcoming smart TV. By moniker, it appears to be an advanced version of the 65-inch Mi TV Master that debuted in July.
There is a possibility that the upcoming coming TV could be the 82-inch Xiaomi TV (L82M6-8K model number) that was recently approved by the 3C authority of China. The 3C listing had revealed that there is a lower variant of the TV with the L82M6-4K model number. This model has an 82-inch display with 4K resolution support.
Rumors have it that the upcoming 82-inch TVs will be equipped with display panels supplied by LG display. Since the South Korean company does not supply QLED screens, the forthcoming 82-inch TVs are expected to sport OLED or LED-backlit LCD screen.
The smart TV is expected to carry an expensive price tag since it also supports 5G connectivity. However, it will be priced lower than the company’s transparent TV that costs 49,999 Yuan ($7363). With few days remaining for the launch, the Chinese firm is expected to reveal some of its other key features before launch.
