Xiaomi’s next global launch event will take place on March 29. Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi’s Senior Product Marketing Manager Daniel D has confirmed that the company will be unleashing the world’s first smartphone with Samsung ISOCELL GN2 50-megapixel camera. It can be said based on the recent reports that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra flagship phone will be featuring the new camera.
As the poster reveals, Xiaomi has worked with Samsung to develop the massive 1/1.12” GN2 lens. It offers a super pixel size of 2.8micron and supports Dual PD Pro, which promises faster and accurate autofocusing. The Xiaomi executive claimed that it took 18 months of research on the sensor. Announced in February, the GN2 offers features like Smart ISO/ISO Pro, staggered HDR, 4-in-1 pixel binning, 120fps 4K videos, and more.
Reliable tipster Ice Universe had claimed last month that the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra will be equipped with the GN2 lens. Past reports have revealed that the smartphone will feature a large-sized rear camera module, which will house three cameras and a secondary display. The triple camera setup is expected to include a 48-megapixel ultrawide lens and a 48-megapixel telephoto snapper apart from the GN2 lens.
The Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra is rumored to be equipped with a 6.81-inch QHD+ OLED screen with curved edges. It is expected to carry support for a 120Hz refresh rate and in-display fingerprint sensor. It may feature a 5,000mAh battery that supports 67W wired charging, 50W wireless charging, and 10W reverse wireless charging.
The Snapdragon 888 chipset will be powering the Mi 11 Ultra with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage. It is may offer other features like MIUI 12.5 based Android 11 OS, Harman Kardon speakers, and IP68 rated chassis.
