ZTE will be announcing the Axon 40 Ultra on May 9 in China. It will be the company’s most premium flagship phone upon its arrival. Ahead of the launch, the company has been teasing the key features of the device. None of the leaks and official teasers has revealed the entire design of the device. Today, the Axon 40 Ultra was found listed on the Chinese retailer site Pinduoduo. A render showcasing the front and rear design of the phone was also found in the listing.
The Axon 40 Ultra render shows that it will offer a very high screen-to-body ratio. The reason behind it is that it is not only equipped with ultra-thin bezels, but it also does not feature a display notch or punch-hole. The Axon 40 Ultra, like the Axon 20 5G and Axon 30 5G phones before it, will have a selfie camera that is under the screen.
The display features extremely curved edges. It seems to carry support for a Full HD+ resolution, but its exact size is not yet known. For security, it has an in-screen fingerprint scanner. The additional thing that is known about the phone’s security is that it is equipped with an independent security chip to provide users with hardware-level protection.
The rear shell of the device, which seems to be made out of glass, has a triple camera unit. The company has already confirmed that it will have three 64-megapixel cameras on the back. Leaks have revealed that it will have a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 primary camera, a 64-megapixel Sony IMX787 ultrawide camera, and a 64-megapixel OmniVision OV64B telephoto camera.
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip will be powering the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra. It may come with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It may pack a 5,000mAh battery with 65W fast charging support.
