Prerequisites before you begin rooting Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9
- Download the adb driver and root14.zip files.
- Make sure there is at least 80% battery left on your device before you proceed.
- Turn on USB Debugging on your tablet by going to Settings > Developer options > USB debugging.
- Back up the Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9.
Follow the steps below on how to root Amazon Kindle Fire HDX 8.9
- Extract the adb driver to a folder on your desktop.
- Inside the folder, run the Kindle Fire ADB drivers.exe program by double-clicking on it. This will install the ADB driver on your PC.

- Extract the root14.zip to a folder on your PC.
