Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus is now official

After being overwhelmed with rumors and leaks over the past few months, the high;y anticipated Meizu Pro 7 and Pro 7 Plus duo had finally be announced in China earlier today. As expected, the latest pair of flagships from Meizu is indeed extraordinary and is by far one of the most impressive smartphone released this year. Needless to say, they’ll be game changing to the Chinese company’s mobile effort in the over-competitive local smartphone market.

Meizu Pro 7 Specifications

Let’s begin by taking a look at the Pro 7’s specs. Aside having a 5.2″ FHD AMOLED screen at the front, the Meizu Pro 7 also features a futuristic secondary display which also make use of Samsung’s AMOLED panel. Some of the key functions of the secondary display include allowing users to check notifications as well as allow them to take selfies with its main snapper.

According to Meizu, the Pro 7 will be coming in two different versions with one running on the Helio P25 SoC while the other on the Helio X30 SoC. The device will come with 4GB of RAM as well as 64GB internal storage space under its memory compartment. Camera-wise, the Pro 7 comes with a 12MP dual-camera setup at the back which consists of a pair of Sony IMX386 sensors. At the front, there is also a 16MP camera for video calling purposes. To keep its lights on, there will be a 3,000mAh battery which features their in-house mCharge 3.0 technology.

Unlike the Pro 7, the Plus version will only arrive with the Helio X30 SoC. Likewise, it will also come with a beefed up memory configuration consisting of 6GB RAM as well as 128GB internal storage space. As for its camera, it will be equipped with the same sensor as the Pro 7 for both the front and back.

Moving on to their physical differences, the Pro 7 Plus comes with a slightly larger 5.7″ QHD AMOLED display instead. Of course, there will also be a larger battery with 3,500mAh capacity to supplement its bigger display. Its also good to know that the battery on the Pro 7 Plus is built on the latest mCharge 4.0 technology as well.

Both the devices will run on Android 7.0 with the company’s own Flyme 6 UI atop.

Price and Availability

Pricing for Meizu Pro 7 will kick off from $430, while the Pro 7 Plus will start from $530. If nothing goes wrong, the duo is expected to go on sale starting August 5th next week. Sad to say, there still isn’t any words on their global availability so far.
