Samsung had held a global launch event to announce the arrival of Galaxy A20e, Galaxy A40, and Galaxy A80 phones yesterday. The Galaxy A80 that has a model number of SM-A805F is the world’s first phone to be fueled by the newly announced 8nm Snapdragon 730 mobile platform. The same model number has appeared on AnTuTu to reveal the performance of the all new SD730 SoC.
On AnTuTu, the Snapdragon 730 SoC and 8 GB RAM powered Galaxy A80 has scored 207,082. The SoC include two Kryo 460 Gold custom cores working at 2.2 GHz and six Kryo 460 Silver custom cores gunning at 1.7 GHz. The Adreno 618 graphics is also present inside the chipset. AnTuTu benchmarks of the SD730 reveals that its performance is on par or even better than the Snapdragon 835 SoC that powered Android flagship phones in 2017.
The Galaxy A80 has a 6.7-inch S-AMOLED notch-less and a slider for the 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + ToF sensor swivel triple camera setup that also functions as selfie snapper. The display supports 1080 x 2400 pixels. It is loaded with Android 9 Pie OS.
The smartphone is packed with a 3,700mAh battery that supports 25W fast charging. It lacks support for 3.5mm audio jack and it does not feature dedicated selfie cameras. The rear swivel cameras can be used for capturing selfie shots.
