Yesterday, we just reported on a leaked promotional poster of the upcoming Xiaomi 5X and now, the Chinese company had officially confirmed its unveiling date as well. Just like what rumored had suggested, the Xiaomi 5X will indeed by announced on July 26th which coincide with the launch date of the Meizu Pro 7 as well. Not much details were revealed on the press invite, except that the device will be coming with a superior dual-camera which is touted to take extraordinary photos of people.
According to previous reports, the entry-level Xiaomi 5X is expected to come with a 5.5? display, Snapdragon 625 SoC, as well as 4GB of RAM. The higher-end model on the other hand, will be featuring a Snapdragon 660 SoC along with 6GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage space under its memory compartment. Rumors have it that the higher-end model also come with a 12 megapixel dual-camera setup which comprises of a combination of Sony IMX386 and Samsung S5k3m3 sensors. Its front-camera also come with a decent 16MP snapper for selfies.
During the same event, Xiaomi had also confirmed that they will be officially debuting their latest MIUI 9 as well. Its good to know that the Xiaomi 5X will also be running on the MIUI 9 out of the box.
