Xiaomi is expected to soon announce a budget-friendly full screen smartphone before the end of the year. Today, a fresh render of a mysterious Xiaomi phone has surfaced. Fresh information suggests that this new handset may launch as Xiaomi R1.
Earlier this year, Xiaomi was rumored to introduce a new series of smartphones to take on the likes of Oppo and Vivo. The recently announced under specced Redmi Y phones are not good rivals for Oppo F5, R11s, and Vivo V7+. It is speculated that the Xiaomi R1 with its full screen design will be a powerful competitor for aforementioned phones.
It is speculated that the Xiaomi R1 would be arriving with a price tag of 1,499 Yuan (~$227). As of this writing, there is no information available on the specifications of the alleged Xiaomi R1 phone. The render of the phone suggests that apart from the full screen design, the rumored R1 phone is equipped with a USB-C port and it could be featuring a rear-mounted fingerprint reader. It seems to be sporting dual front cameras.
We advise our readers to take the above report with a pinch of salt and wait more for the rumor mill to reveal more information on it. With nearly a month remaining for the year to end, Xiaomi is expected to launch a couple of smartphones such as Redmi Note, Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus and Xiaomi MI 6C.
