Xiaomi Redmi 5, Redmi 5 Plus Appears on TENAA Before December 7 Launch

Xiaomi has already confirmed that the Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus smartphones would be unveiled on Dec. 7. The Xiaomi MDT1 and MDE1 smartphones that have appeared on TENAA seem belong to the Redmi 5. The previously spotted MEE7 and MET7 seem to belong to the Redmi 5 Plus

According to TENAA listing, the Redmi 5 will arrive with a 5.7-inch HD+ display that will offer an aspect ratio of 18:9. It measures 151.8 x 72.8 x 7.7 and its weight is 157 grams. It will be powered by 1.8 GHz processor. Speculations are rife that it may feature Snapdragon 450 chipset. It will be coming in variants like 2 GB RAM + 16 GB storage, 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage.

It will be running on Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS and will carry support for a microSD card slot. It will be featuring 12-megapixel rear camera and a 5-megapixel front camera. A 3,200mAh battery will be powering the Redmi 5. The images of the Redmi 5 suggest that it features a metallic body.

The Redmi 5 Plus is expected to come with a larger 5.99-inch display that will support FHD+ resolution. It will be coming with a 4,000mAh battery. Its dimensions are 158.8 x 75.45 x 8.05mm and it weighs 179.5 grams.

The Redmi 5 Plus is expected to be arrive in variants like 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. It is powered by 2.0 GHz processor. Rumors indicate that it may feature Snapdragon 625 SoC. The Redmi 5 Plus features the same front and rear cameras that are available on the Redmi 5. It will be also running on Android 7.1.2 Nougat OS.

The Redmi 5 and Redmi 5 Plus are speculated to arrive with respectively pricing of 699 Yuan (~$105) and 999 Yuan (~$150). These phones are going to be available in multiple color choices such as black, rose gold, gold, white, blue, red, pink, grey and silver.
